Sheila Lirio Marcelo is a Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA). Prior to NEA, she founded Care.com in 2006, serving as Chairwoman and CEO until early 2020 when it was sold to IAC. Care.com became the world’s largest marketplace for family care services—including an enterprise solution for companies to support workers with their family care needs. Under Sheila’s leadership, the company had over 100% year-over-year growth and now serves over 35 million people across 20 countries.  

Marcello is also a board member of The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), leading the on-the-ground work of community organizers defending against anti-AAPI violence, raising awareness, building understanding and broadening educational efforts about the Asian American experience.

In 2021, she proudly joined The Wing as Executive Chairwoman to guide its vision as the company embarks on a new journey to reimagine coworking spaces by focusing on the underserved needs of women—familiar territory for Marcelo.

Marcelo graduated from Mount Holyoke College, which also conferred upon her an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 2015.  She received her J.D. and M.B.A. degrees with honors from Harvard University and, in 2014, was the youngest recipient of the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award.
